
Most papers are not rejected because the research is weak.
They are rejected because a methodological, statistical, or analytical problem was not caught early enough. I built PeerGenius to change that.
As a mathematical statistician, frequent journal reviewer, and researcher with 70+ publications, I have spent my career finding the analytical weaknesses that slow down or derail publication. PeerGenius puts that work in front of you before an editor sees it.
I did not want a tool that only flags problems. Every issue it identifies comes with a concrete fix and an explanation of why that fix is right, so you spend less time guessing what to revise, and you carry something useful into the next manuscript.
I also built it for a particular kind of researcher. Imposter syndrome is real, and it hits hardest for students, newly minted PhDs, and anyone who has wondered whether they belong in their field. This gives you honest, judgment-free feedback in a space with no audience and nothing to prove.
For graduate students it can change the shape of a defense. Running your dissertation through the panel means you already know the weak points and have thought through the answers. Because the reviewers argue from different disciplines, the questions that would have come out of nowhere have already been asked.
It also works on published work. Running existing studies through the panel is a practical way to find the methodological limits of a field, and for students trying to carve out an independent research niche, a way to see where the work still needs doing.
The goal is simple: a higher quality submission that spends less time in revision and more time in print.

Where this is going
One goal for PeerGenius is that it eventually plays a role in journal peer review itself. Human reviewers stay. A tool like this, with a human in the loop, could speed the process up, raise the quality of feedback returned to authors, and reduce the burden on researchers already stretched thin by the volume of manuscripts needing review.
The peer review system runs on the goodwill of researchers giving their time. Anything that makes that less exhausting is worth building.
